Some changes | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Prop poses can always be a little tricky – and this bench makes them particularly difficult. While the gentle curve of the bench helps accentuate a newborn’s sweet wrinkles and curled position, it’s not the most comfortable bed for most. I have learned that the trick to getting this shot is a very sleepy baby (and lots of patience!). It was well worth the effort for the result.

I absolutely love that last image of mom kissing baby. While I have several beautiful maternity gowns to use during my studio maternity sessions, I haven’t used them for a newborn session before.  On a whim I decided to have her change into one of the gowns to complement the soft lighting in this image. The result was the sweet and soft look I was after for this portrait. I will definitely use these gowns again in future sessions!
